On Friday we had pet day. Pet day is where you bring you pets along and people can look at them. In our classroom we made cakes that would we a animal. When we had finished making them we would put them on the table and then when we came in from playtime we were allowed to eat it. We also made a habitat and we thought it was a snake so we put snake eggs in the habitat and used pipe cleaners as snakes. Here are some photos. Bye From Zara

For a few weeks we have been reading a book called holes. It is a detention camp for boys. It is about a boy called Stanley Yelnats and he had to go to a place that is called camp green lake. Every day you would have dig a hole 5 foot deep and 5 foot wide. there are rattlesnakes and scorpions there. If you get bitten by one you get to rest in your tend and don't have to dig a hole. some people try to get bitten by on because then they get to rest in their tent. But that is not the worst thing that can happen to you at camp green lake. The worst thing is being bitten by a yellow spotted lizard. You will die from one of those. Today we had a visit from Jeff. He is a member from the ASB bank. He taught us about how to save money in a smart way. We had four units to work through. Everytime we had finished we got a gold ribbon. The challenge for me was trying to work out the money equation super fast. Have you ever had ASB come and talk to you? If you haven't you should try and get your teachers to get one in. They will help you to be safe with your money. Whether it is in your pocket or on your credit card or debit card. If you lose your card they will tell you what to do. you can even volunteer for some games. Bye from Zara

Last week we did long distance run. We had to run 3 and a half times around the field. We got timed how long it would take us to get round the big field 3 and a half times. It took me 6m and 48s. I felt like it wanted to give up but I didn't. When I was done my class had to watch Rimu do 4 and a half laps of the big field. I thought I was going to be the last one running. Have you Ever done long distance running?

Today we are learning about what a media is with Miss Morgan. Do you know what the media is? If you don't know what the media is I will tell you. A media is something were you can find information out. Like a radio, websites, newspaper, brochure, poster, signs, television, shop fronts,banners, movies,billboards, bus shelter adds, podcasts, video games, books or magazines. I had to read those and find out which ones I had seen in the last 24 hours. Here are my slides that I did. I did it with my friend Zoe.

Today I am going to tell you about my maths. We have been learning about negative numbers. Did you know if you were talking about the temperature: for example -34 and -26 well -26 would be the warmest.
The challenge for me was trying to understand how: for example -34 and -26 - because -26 is bigger.

I have made some google slides telling you about some things I have done this year and my goals. I used slides and it was very easy to make I hope you like it. My friends used different things to me like Google jamboard, goggle slides, prezzi, Eas.ly.com and biteable. My challenge this year was to get all of my work done so I don't have to stay in at play and do it. Are you wondering what I loved this year? well I will tell you. I loved learning about komodo dragons and working out the grid method and 1st person recount. Here are my slides I made.

Hi, Today I am going to tell you about my reading. We are doing our reading about komodo dragons.They are the world's largest lizard in the world. They are the world's most vicious lizard. One they were discovered in 1912, komodo dragons became the target of hunters. They live in indonesia they love sun and rain forests. Hi, My speech was about saving sea animals saving poor people and making more fun places in the world. The first paragraph was about sea animals and then it was about saving poor people and then it was about why there should be more fun places in the world.

Last week when we did Science we made sherbet with a whole lot of powder. When we were making it we had to put all of the powders in. We had jelly crystals, citric acid, icing sugar and baking soda. The jelly crystals tasted bitter and sweet the citric acid tasted sour lemony and yuck!!! The icing sugar tasted extremely sweet and delicious and the baking soda tasted a little bit sour and a little bit yuck.
Today we made our speech into a book creator.
I liked it because it was fun and I got to write a book.
What I know about book creator:
I know that you can make cool backgrounds and you can color the text boxes. You can also insert images from your chromebook. Also you can do a whole lot more stuff. Once you have finished that you have made a book.

We have been writing about current events. If you are wondering what current events are I will tell you about it. It is when something is going on in the world and it will either be on the news, an article, on the newspaper and in a book, to inform people about things happening.

Today I am going to tell you about MY SUPER MATHS. We have been learning about Map locations. It is really hard. My maths group is B2. We have been learning ou half turns, quarter turns, full turns.
